I like Kendal and the Lake District because it allows me to spend time in a more laid back and peaceful environment. There's a lot of beautiful scenery to explore and discover if you enjoy spending time outside. I definitely recommend this destination for artists and photographers.   - Jack Barns

One of my hobbies is wildlife photography and for anyone interested in nature, the Lake District is ideal. Kendal is a small town but is within a short distance of many activities and sights.

Many adventure sport activities are catered for such as hiking, biking and climbing. If you can travel a bit further there's almost an endless amount of activities outside of town like Go Ape, falconry and canoeing. The Lake District is a great destination for people who enjoy the great outdoors.

Kendal is the gateway to the Lake District and home to the famous Kendal mint cake which is popular across the nation. It is a historic town in Cumbria - the town centre of Kendal consists of Kirkland, Highgate and Stricklandgate, the latter having been pedestrianised for a few years now. The town centre is quite pleasant, and there are a number of different hotels and other accommodation within walking distance. Most of the people in Kendal are friendly and relatively easy to get on with.   - Matthew
