3rd stay at this hotel - now a Holiday Inn (previously Coutyard Marriott). Fantastic location on Brayford Wharf, right in heart of Lincoln, leave car in hotel car park as everything is easy walking distance. Good choice of bars, restaurants (incl a floating seafish restaurants and pub (just refurbished)on the Wharf - spoilt for choice to eat or chill out with a drink and watch the boats/ world walk by. Couple mins walk by the water up through the 'Glory Hole' brings you into heart of Lincoln shopping - turn left and head towards 'Steep Hill' for old quarter. Lots to see/do for weekender.

First day did a bit of shopping lincoln city has a good variety of shops and a good mix of architecture between new and old. Went to Lincoln cathedral very good considering you do not have to pay to see most of it. Lincoln castle interesting but a bit overpriced on the entrance fee. went to lincoln theatre to see a play, nice to see an old small theatre still in existence and still looking good

The Courtyard by Marriott in Lincoln was a great hotel for location and comfort. We are a family of four so it was great to have a room with two double beds! Seems to be rare in this country. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as a cinema. That means you can have a whole evenings entertainment without having to drive. During the day there are plenty of shops to look around as well as the Cathedral and the castle. Although to go into both costs a family £20 (£10 to enter each one) which seems a little expensive for what you get. All in all a great place to visit and a great hotel.

We visit Lincoln on a regular basis to visit our Grand-daughter who is a student therre. Hence the title we spend out time with her , replenishing fridge and freezer and general things around the town.

We had been on a sailing holiday on the Norfolk Broads and used Lincoln as an overnight stay knowing it was a nice place. The Marriott we knew was by the water , so in an excellent location. It was an excellent hotel and we would return.
