We visited Sandringham, which is only 4 miles from the Knights Hiil Hotel where we stayed. we really enjoyed it as it is very beautiful and the museum is of great interest. We also visited the town of Kings Lynn which was nice, had a good meal in the main Tuesday Square, a lively italian called Prezzo but you must book, very busy at weekends. We ended our trip in neighbouring Tydd St Mary in Lincs which was nice, very flat lots of marshes. Had a good meal in a restaurant called five bells in Tydd Gote.
The Knights Hill Hotel provided an excellent start to our holiday, it was easy to access off main routes in Norfolk. The food in the dining room was of a very high standard both for dinner in the evening and breakfast. Staff were very helpful and courteous. There was a good selection of tourist information about local attractions. The Knights Hill Hotel is an ideal bases from which to access many local areas of interest.
Castle Rising Castle Norfolk, never heard of it! Neither had we, but had a very pleasant morning stroll around this historical site. Home of Queen Isabella following the murder of her husband Edward the II.
This visit was a chance for partner and i to get away and spend some time together ain a relaxing atmoshere. we visited Kings lynn and had a lovely day mooching round the shops and visiting local museums. we decided to haed back to the hotel around 4pm to make the most of the onsite pool, jacuzzi, steam and suana, which was a lovley relaxing par of our trip. we ate at the farmers bar and restaurant which had a good atmosphere and delicious pub grub. it was exactly what we were looking for and we enjoyed the time we spent in kings lynn.
Great time to relax and excercise the christmas dinner away.the bird watching was really good. To watch the thousands of pink footed geese take the the sky at 4.00pm was amazing. The weather was good to us, for walking went into Holkham Hall , still christmas feeling with the deers in the park. The tourist board at Hunstanton are excellent, when you have your free walks and info from the staff excellent place to have a bags of fish and chips and walk along the prom ( very english)
