Visited the Sacre Farm to see the animals with the children. This was a good insight to animals for the children and they enjoyed it. Visited Thomas the Tank Engine and had a trip on the Nene Valley Railway. Not many activities on the Nene Valley Railway due to the weather.
Our weekend break was booked at very short notice with the intention of spending some family time together and to get away from it all. At £50 for two adjoining rooms incl. breakfast, for 4 of us, this was exactly what we needed. Was slightly disappointed with the quality of the restaurant food, which wasn't such good value for money. . If I had to pay the full £12.95 per person for a full English breakfast, I would have been disapponted. However the staff were very pleasant. I would go again for a short break away but take my running gear next time as there is a lovely path alongside the river.
We needed some where stay after having a fantastic time and my sisters' 50th birthday party, the Ramada was the perfect place to stay.
The hotel was fine for a one night stop over but I would probably stay here again. The room was ok but the resturant area was in need of an upgrade.
The Historic Dockyrd was hosting 'A Tribute to the 1940's' World war 2 weekend, with people in period costume and Wartime events being re-enacted. Excellent entertainment coupled with a very interesting museum. Well worth a second (or third) visit.
