We enjoyed a 3 day break over Easter 2007 in Lincolnshire. Visited Lincoln and the Cathedral. Some interesting shops in Lincoln and spent a short time at the Cathedral as we were too late to see The Da Vinci Code Exhibition but an exceptionally good choir sang when we were that and it was very atmospheric. We spent part of our time in Stamford and it is a very quaint town. We visited Burghley Hall and saw parts of the house where again they filmed the Da Vinci Code. Pride and Prejudice was filmed there, too, and we saw the room where the dining scene at Rosings was filmed. Some of the ceilings have incredibly ornate paintings and we would recommend. a visit to the area.

Found the hotel very easy to find. was the perfect setting for a romantic weekend. thanks to all the staff at the olde barn and at superbreaks

All we wanted was a restful few days of family time and we were well serviced in that Dept. We had no agenda other than relaxation. There wasn't much to do in the area in Feb. other than visit Linclon. We did set off for a walk, but it was very foggy and damp so we happily retired to the pool for the afternoon. We had good rooms in the hotel yhough the rest of the building was in need of modernisation/refurbishment. I suspect that this was being doe slowly. Not the best hotel ever, but perfectly adequate for our needs. Only complaint was a very average meal in the bar on the Sun. Evening. Disappointing. Frozen burger/frozen chips - not what I expected from'Old Barn Burger and hand cut chips'

A great day with so much history. Shopping centre interesting with some excellent secondhand books
