This was our 3rd visit to Stratford and our 2nd visit to The Swan Theatre. This is the best place to see a play as it is the smallest and most intimate of the RSC venues. Don't be put off by modern interpretations of classics as we saw Macbett and it was entertaining, funny and mad, all rolled into one. Even if the weather is bad there is still plenty to do, with a wide range of high street shops and plenty of coffee bars, as well as the trusty Shakespeare attractions. Beware of Sundays when the theatres say they are closed. We found that Catherine Tate was giving a talk in one of them on Shakespeare and Me (very funny). Also on Sunday evenings the town, pubs and restaurants seem to close up quite early and the whole place takes on the appearance of a ghost town, as we found out when we came out of the cinema at 11.15pm
I went with my daughter on a murder mystery weekend held in Stratford on Avon. Was not very enthusiastic expecting a very in Crowd who go to each weekend with a slightly fanatical air. It could not have been more different. Complete cross section of people from twenty year olds to a seventy year old vicar. It was freindly fast moving and fun. Hotel was good. Food very good. Staff helpful and friendly. Murder mystery was professional and slick. Really enjoyed it and would not hesitate to go on another.
We chose Stratford for our 2007 Wedding anniversary. It was a good choice, not least because the town has that special feel of a place with history and character. Stratford also put on a Shakespearian production- the last before the theatre is refurbished. Corialanus is not the best known of the bard's writings, but it was a memorable occasion for us. This was our 47th anniversary; the location, the sights, and the hotel all made for a wonderful stay.
We had a lovely time at your hotel and had all our meals there. the staff could not do any more for you it was great.
Did all the touristy things visiting. Shakespeare related things. World cup weekend so mwatched England play. All people in bars and cafes very friendly. Weather absolutely beautiful. Stratford beautiful place, easy to get around.
