Located in the heart of Worcester, a place of great history and intrigue, this hotel is a fine place to stay if you want to explore this charming community and the people that live here. There is a wealth of attractions close by to explore and a friendly staff on hand to help you get the most from your stay. The rooms have all been fitted with first class amenities.
The city was really pretty and I wish we could have stayed longer. There were many interesting shops to explore. I will return but do not feel inclined to stay at the same Hotel, the room was extremely cold and when we mentioned this to the staff we were told that the heating was broken and that they had run out of portable heaters. As it was late there was nothing further that we could do. The next day I had a really stiff neck which was a shame as I had looked forward to the day (my graduation) and it was quite painful. I did fill out the comments form but did not want to spoil the day further by complaining to staff. I thought the hotel would have written to follow up my complaint on the form but I have heard nothing which is rather diappointing. It was not a cheap hotel and I would expect better service than we recieved at the Fownes.
My wife and visited Worcester as my employer(Mears) were holding a family fun day at Worcester Races. We stumbled upon a Pub/Bistro called the Rectification House which is by the river and has an excellent atmosphere and beer gardens.Well worth a visit.
We very much enjoyed the local community. The wonderful views - lots of family fun!! The reception was particularly well done
Bought a map of the city centre which proved invaluable. Great cup of tea and scones in the reindeer centre Worcester cathedral is a must
