The Isle of Skye is perhaps my favourite place in all of Scotland and I travel there regularly. From top to bottom, there is no limit to the landscapes or activities. I would recommend a trip to Elgol, picking up the single track road from Broadford. The trip to Elgol takes you through some of the loveliest vistas along the way. Before reaching Elgol, you will come across Duncan House - a building housing the workshop and studio of Garth Duncan, an amazing silver- and goldsmith. Well worth a visit. As you come to the end of the road, there is a stunning view of the Black Cuillens across Loch Scaivag. You can board a boat here to take you across the loch to Loch Coriusk with its plentiful wildlife. Other notable trips on the Isle is the road to Portree and then north to Staffin, taking you by the famous Kilt Rock and offering unparalleled views of the mainland from the Isle. Skye Skyns is located on the Waternish Peninsula - a traditional tannery with a gift shop. Dunvegan Castle is very much worth a visit and the adjoining gardens are a delight. Go and explore Skye and you will soon find yourself wanting to return again and again.
