Found the cheapest way to travel was by using a Off-Peak Day Ticket (Adult ?5.10, Child ?1.00). Allow plenty of time for any of the museums or the zoo - plenty to see. Covent Garden is a great place to sit and watch the world go by - be careful of the street entertainers or you may become part of the act!.. The Lion King show - Stunning - no need to say anything else!

Bayswater is a lovely little hotel in a quiet neighborhood. It's close to the subway (tube) and to bus stations. Kensington is an easy walk and I highly recommend going on the open bus tour to get your bearings and decide what you really want to see. My children loved the Tower of London so much we went back for a second day..and they are ages 11 and 6. St Paul's was impressive but other than the whispering gallery they were bored. We went to Legoland..a definite trip I would recommend and Chessington World of Adventures for rewarding the children's patience when finished with yet another tour the parents want to go on. The London Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Science is something not to be missed. As Boy Scouts we also enjoyed visiting the Baden Powell House which was just around the corner from the museum. Definitely get the London TravelCard for the tube and buses and plan for spending all day looking at attractions because there are so many things to do. We enjoyed being able to come back to our hotel room for a nice quiet rest after a long day. The staff at the Bayswater were helpful in planning travel to attractions, the laundry facility which is just a block away on Moscow Rd, and for helping you with whatever your needs. They also have a luggage storage service which is nice if you are planning a short trip to... Read full review ]

The Lion King Musical is Fantastic, which I would recommend to everyone especially with Children. Excellent to visit the Natural History Museum as it did not cost us a penny. We had a really brilliant tour guide in The Tower of London who knows his subject and got a humour too.

We are often in London and this time the family wanted to do things we hadn't done befere, i e avoiding the normal tourist attractions. Hence, there are not so much advertisement for the canal boat trips to London Zoo and to Camden Lock, but we strongly recommend this. Taking the walk along the Jubilee way, visiting Tate and just enjoying all attractions and funny things happening on the way there. Strolling along all the way to Docklands and the restaurants, something we also would like to recommend. And as allways, the science museum is unbeatable and it is also FREE.

I was meeting a friend who had never been to London before. We only had one day so I decided we should tick off a few sights. Most of them found on the Monopoly board! The hotel was near Hyde Park, we walked down Oxford Street and then Regent Street. The Christmas lights were looking good. Then Picadilly, Tafalgar Sq, Whitehall, Big Ben. We ate in a restarant in Leicester Sq where we could watch the world go by. Ended up in a pub in Bayswater. Sore feet but a lovely time.
