We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in London. Everything was just as anyone could have wished. The Journy on the train, the hotel (Tower Hotel), Meals and service were all of the highest quality and we would recomend London for a interesting weekend break, if not longer. Thanks again Superbreak.
My first trip to London was amazing.I found People friendly and helpful, from the cab drivers, underground personel to store assistents. The Tower of London tour was outstanding. The London Eye was breathtaking.
Trip to Tower was good with an excellent guide - interspersed with information but witty with it. Changing of the Guard - a good view from the Victoria and Albert Monument - not so good if you are unlucky to be late. Hop-on Hop-off Tour Bus/River Trip was very good value for £18.00p., each - although we did ask to get off at the Tower Hotel and as it didn't stop we decided it wasn't a good idea to swim!!
The Tower Hotel has some good facilities. Our room had a superb view, but was a little tatty. It was irritating having to ask for cutlery, milk, toast and other basic items at breakfast on both morning. We found the location of the hotel just a little too far out of the centre to make visiting attractions quick and easy. We had to take a cab on a couple of occasions. All the exhibitions we saw were worth the visit and could be recommended. We booked theatre tickets at the Leicester Sq., ticket office saving over £30. Guys and Dolls is a show not to be missed. Camden High St., and market are always worth a visit if only for the novelty value!
The manager at the hotel was fantastic. Unfortunately his reception staff or their systems were abysmal. Although I had confirmation of the booking with me they were unable to confirm a booking had been made , kept me wating for 40 minutes at the reception counter so that in the end I pulled up a chair to it as I was feeling unwell. They first of all instead of a providing the booked double room (for myself and my wife) plus a twin room for my daughter and her cousin ) offered after much delay a tripple and a single room. This was not acceptable , nor was the offer of two doubles ( my daughter and her cousin do not want to share a bed).Eventually we were given a twin and a double ( well a suite actually) The rooms were very good though I would have settled for what we'd booked and spoent lest time and energy sorting this at the end of a long day. All of this apart I would be happy to stay in this excellanrt hotel with good facilities in a stunning location
