In the fantastic seaside resort of Hythe on the Kent coast, experience a little slice of Victorian splendour when you stay at this charming old property. The owners have been careful to retain a great many of the period features, but also fuse modern amenities to make you feel at home. There is a spa and leisure centre on-site with swimming pool and spa.

We were visiting family who live in Folkestone and have up until this trip always stayed in Folkestone. The Mercure Hythe is a pleasant hotel which needs updating but I susepct in its hayday was a superb venue. The room was adequate but again needed redecorating. The best part was the excellent breakfast, the food was hot, the plates were hot and the staff very attentive. Will definitely consider staying there again on my next visit.

The Hotel was marvellous - staff friendly and helpful, on the couple of occasions when things did go wrong they were happy to comp us coffees etc - what did go wrong was that booking via Superbreak had never made it to the hotel and we had to wait for 4 single, rather than 2 twin, rooms to be cleaned. One of said singles was really below par and when we complained this room was changed. we still had a lovely time but it would have been better without that mix up.

Weather was good but cold.A pity the 4* Imperial hotel felt they needed to turn the heating off at 21.50.

We met friends in La Tasca A spanish Restaurant. Food was very good and a nice atmosphere. In the evening we went to Hazlitt theatre to see A tribute band which was very well organised and received.

A good hotel in a quiet location on the sea front with good sports facilities. A good standard of service in the hotel with a high standard of rooms and facilities. A walk along the Military Canal and a trip on the Romney, Hythe & Dimchurch Railway is a must.
