The Hope Anchor hotel in East Sussedx is set in a historic former inn dating back to the middle of the 18th century. It provides individually-styled guest bedrooms, all of which have Internet access as well as delightful views of Rye. Some rooms have four-poster beds. Originally built for local ship builders and sailors, the hotel is said to have once been used to hide the Tenderden Gang of smugglers. The cosy bar has open fires where guests can relax and unwind in comfortable surroundings.
