A very nice hotel, rooms small but very well designed and clean. Hotel restaurant lacking in atmosphere a little but great food. The village was lovely.

Was a suprose for my partner. happy birthday to you, a day looking at cars, bikes and motors, or so i thought. easy journey, well signposted. The motor museum was lovely, something for everyone, fun to be had for all and the grounds were fantastic. Steeped in history and culture both new and old. fabulous scents from flowers to herbs in the garden and then a journey on the overhead monorail to finish. Food reasonably priced with plenty of choice. From bucklers Hard, to the harbour at Hythe and the view at lepe, the New forest is truely a magical place (just watch out for the ponys!!). Hotel was the Forest Lodge Hotel. Amazing place. Room with a view, we had the swimming pool to ourselves and the dinner was devine. I defy anyone to dislike the food! Pleasent staff and friendly to boot, we both had a hoot. Would most certainly return. Many thanks!!

I visited the New Forest with my mother who is partially disabled and the reason for the visit was to see the New Forest and the ponies. We visited Burley which is our favority village, where the ponies wander about, holding up the traffic. We thought it was great, but no doubt the locals feel differently. We also visited Lymington which we thoroughly enjoyed. The weather was perfect, warm, sunny and dry. The scenery, which was our main reason for visiting is superb. I will visit again with my husband to walk the forest.

Arrived in the morning of Saturday 12th May to find the place alive with hoards of people -only to find that we had picked the Spring auto auction and motormart car boot weekend.Thinking we would not get parked or even into the museum with all the queues etc we thought we'd turn around and leave. But we were trapped in the traffic so carried on to car parkO at the very top of the hill!. We decided to fall in line and visit the museum anyway. And it turned out to be the right decision as we were able to visit everything for half price-we only paid 16 for two instead of the normal 32.As most of the car enthusiasts were more interested in the car boot side of things we were able to stroll about the museum in relative comfort being able to take lots of photo's without obstruction. We took a ride on the mono rail which took you through the car museum and around the walled gardens. After this we walked around the house and grounds-by the lake and Abbey.Had a nice lunch soup and main /coffee. verygood value. Later on in the day we visited Lymington -a very pretty harbour town bustling with activity-the harbour being full to capacity with boats.Plus the added interest of passengers boarding the ferry to the Isle of Wight. We had a tea with toasted tea cakes in the Stanwell House Hotel-recommended!!!and good service too.... Read full review ]
