I stayed at this hotel last night and was disappointed.

Previously I have stayed at the Bristol City Centre (Haymarket) Premier Inn and been happy with that option, but it was £20 dearer and there is no guarantee on parking, so I thought I'd try this one about 4 miles out of the city.

My biggest complaint was the fact that there was a stale smell of smoke in the room. Someone had clearly been smoking there, despite this being against the law. Not entirely the Premier Inn's fault, I suppose, but something that housekeeping should surely have picked up on, and tried to ventilate as much as possible prior to our arrival.

I went back to reception and spoke to Rhys. He apologised but said there were no other rooms for us. I was travelling with young family and not happy with the room, but there appeared to be nothing he could do beyond offering us some room freshener or seeing if he could get us into another Premier Inn somewhere else (not something we really wanted to do late at night with children), so it seemed like we just had to 'lump it'.

The rest of the hotel was OK, but no more, really. Neither the hair dryer nor the TV remote in our room seemed to work, but I wasn't so inclined to mention them given my main concern wasn't addressed.

Next morning, I re-iterated that I wasn't happy and exercised the good...
