Harrogate's super because everything's in easy reach. After checking in to the hotel, I went to do a spot of shopping in the town's designer clothes shops and enjoyed a coffee at Betty's famous tea rooms. The Harrogate International Centre is a superb exhibition venue and once the show closes, there are a multitude of great bars and restaurants to socialise in. My personal recommendation would be to try the wonderful seafood at the Loch Fyne fish restaurant before headind to the recently opened and ultra sassy Ministry of Sound 'Miniclub' for a cocktail or two.
Harrogate is an excellent venue for the above with lots of good restaurants and bars locally situated in the town centre.
My husband & I stayed at the Swallow St Geroge Hotel with 12 members of our family. The staff & Hotel could not have been better. The Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a visit to the pantomime and a stroll in the Valley Gardens before watching the Christmas 'fun' game at Harrogate Rugby Club.
We took my grandmother back to her roots and drove around North Yorkshire for two days helping her to remember her childhood. we had lunch at Bettys Tea Shop in Harrogate, but we had to queue for nearly half an hour! Better to go just for tea next timemany attractions were closed because it was out of season
Had a fun filled 2 days at a nursing conference. Venue was the Majestic Hotel. Conference arranged by the RCN. Facilites at the Majestic great food varied and filling. Travel to Harrogate was very economical and efficient via train and my hotel was a 10 minute walk although taxis were available. Shopping in Harrogate excellent all the usual department stores but some amazing interior shops and clothes shops. Excellent for Christmas shopping as not too spread out. Have previously visited the theatres which is a real traditional theatre and some grea shows
